Speakers
Rachel McDiehl MD IBCLC is an ob/gyn physician, who is working to craft a breastfeeding medicine practice in her private practice in Decatur, GA – just outside of the Atlanta city limits. She graduated from Emory School of Medicine in 2018 and finished ob/gyn residency at Emory in 2022. Along the way, has had three children, breastfed for over 3 years, and spent countless hours pumping and recently completed her IBCLC
Anne Eglash MD, IBCLC, FABM, is a clinical professor with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. In addition to practicing family medicine, she has been a board-certified lactation consultant since 1994.
Dr. Eglash is a cofounder of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, the Medical Director and cofounder of the Mothers’ Milk Bank of the Western Great Lakes, and the Medical Director of the University of Wisconsin Breastfeeding Medicine Clinic. She has published many peer- reviewed articles on breastfeeding medicine, has been the lead author on several Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine protocols, and was an associate editor for Breastfeeding Medicine Journal.
She co-hosts and produces a breastfeeding medicine podcast series, called The Breastfeeding Medicine Podcast. She is the founder and president of the Institute for the Advancement of Breastfeeding and Lactation Education.
Karen Bodnar MD, IBCLC, FABM, FAAP, received her BS in Physics from MIT and served as an officer in the US Air Force. She then completed medical school and pediatric residency at the University of Florida. At UF, she also studied to become an Internationally Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). After completing her training, she spent 5 years in California where she worked in private practice and as an assistant clinical professor of general pediatrics at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. In 2015, she relocated to Virginia and became a pediatric hospitalist, assistant clinical professor at Inova Children’s Hospital, and medical director of the Inova Breastfeeding Medicine Clinic. She is a fellow of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (ABM), a past board member of IABLE, and is a current board member of ABM. She is a cohost of the Breastfeeding Medicine Podcast series.
