Parental and Infant Health During Lactation is an all-day course that builds on basic breastfeeding and lactation knowledge. The 5 instructors cover a variety of topics regarding the intersection of maternal and infant health conditions and lactation.

Goals for this webinar include:

  • Identify common chronic maternal and infant medical conditions that impact lactation
  • Explain how the parental diet may affect milk quality
  • Discuss the evaluation of a breastfed or human milk-fed infant who is growing slowly
  • Describe the relationship between parental weight and lactation
  • Explain the variety of food allergies that may occur among breastfed infants

Eval/Certification

Everyone registered for this event will receive a link to the course evaluation materials in their IABLE account’s My Education Center within 3 days of the live course. Completing this is a requirement for certification.

Accreditation

CERPs: This course has been allocated 6.25 (L) CERPs recognized by IBLCE. Long Term Provider #117-04.

CMEs: The AAFP has reviewed Parent and Infant Health During Lactation, and deemed it acceptable for 6.25 AAFP credit. Term of approval is from 08/01/2025 to 07/31/2026. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing Credits: According to the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the continuing education hours approved by the AAFP and AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ meet the requirement of formally approved continuing education hours and may be used as such for ANCC Certification renewal. https://www.nursingworld.org/certification/faqs/
